Randy Styner is the CEO and Lead Instructor for Tank Tactical, Inc. He has worked in the Emergency Management field for over 20 years, including in County, State, Federal, Special District, and Higher Education emergency preparedness and response. Randy has been a Red Cross Certified CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor since 2005, and an American College of Surgeons Stop-the-Bleed instructor since 2013. He is California Peace Officer Standards Training (POST) Certified, and has provided trainings to multiple public health, public safety, and law enforcement entities throughout Southern California. He is the author of The Light of the Moon: Life, Death and the Birth of Advanced Trauma Life Support (2007), as well as numerous articles on emergency preparedness and response.
Corporal Styner is a Marine Corps Veteran, serving with 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, as well as 1st Marine Division, Task Force Ripper, during Operations Desert Shield/Storm. He lives with his wife and son in Orange County.
Jeff Buffington is the Vice President and CFO of Tank Tactical, Inc. He is an information technology professional who has spent more time training computer users than sitting behind a keyboard. He spent many years in state government in Colorado supporting multiple Agencies, including the Colorado Department of Public Safety, (State Patrol, Division of Fire Safety, and the Emergency Communications Network group), Department of Human Services, and the Governor’s Office of Information Technology. Jeff has been an American College of Surgeons Stop-the-Bleed instructor since 2020.
Sergeant Buffington served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm with Bravo Company, 3rd Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division. He was the company's Nuclear, Biological and Chemical training NCO, preparing tankers to identify and respond to NBC threats in tactical situations, as well as their Combat First Aid training coordinator. He lives with his wife and 2 children in San Diego.
